Gucci Pre-Fall 2014 Collection

Frida Giannini decided that her Gucci Pre-Fall 2014 would approach would be, it helps to look down.  Using 108-mm platform ankle booties of the Gucci horse-bit loafer which celebrated it sixtieth anniversary this year, gives the collection an almost laidback feel.

The collection includes elements of sharp hues, controlled volume, amped-up outerwear, and a mix of masculine-feminine appeal.  Frida collided colors so close on the spectrum that it produced a new twist on monochromatic.  Throughout the collection, she emphasized layering, then showed a day-to-night dress that had generous sleeves that were offset by a butterfly shaped basque, twice we hybridized of the classic Perfecto: elongating it into a dress coat then covering it in extra-plush gray shearling.
Don't think the label forgot about it's leg baring pieces. The collection has mini dresses and thigh baring skirts.  Still the collection gave a nod to classic femininity using peplum belts to cinch the waists of their dresses, pleated dresses and flare-waist coats.

This year, the signature sex appeal look that Gucci is well known and recognized for is outdone sleek sportswear this season.  Giannini's use of luxe fabrications, a leather shirt this as rice paper and a chubby in goat and Mongolian lamb fur are translated into not being impractical.  The same could be said about the range of handbags the line incorporates.  Embossed Diamante pattern is applied to clutches, buckets, and large double handle tote shaped bags.  It's safe to say, that while it isn't the usual Gucci style, it is a knockout, home run for the infamous line.
