Christian Louboutin Spring 2014 Collection

With winter just around the corner, the man who made the red soles popular - Christian Louboutin - has launched his Spring 2014 collection.  The shoes offer laser cuts, lace detailing, spiked embellishments and a nautical inspired stripes.



The famed shoe designer mixes patent and white leather that pops up on panels and playing along side the mirrored silver streaks.



Laser cut out and ankle strap shoes in the collection take the spotlight in this collection with bouts of gold popping up in some of them.



But my favorite style of Sir Louboutin are his booties.  The booties in his 2014 Spring Collection are fun and boasts cute cut outs and multicolored studs.



And of course, his traditional "So Kate" shoes are present in this collection. Reimaging the shoes with new fabrications and color schemes which include some including a luxurious python material.

Meet Beauty Guru and Fashion Blogger of the Month, Passion Jonesz

This is a new addition to this blog. Like my official tumblr blog, I have decided to add a beauty guru and fashion blogger of the month to this blog. Natural Hair Conversation!!

There are many questions floating around different blog sites about the pros and cons of going natural when it comes to hair. There are so many women who have made the big decision to go natural. I being one of those women, have been natural for the past 4 years. So I have decided to give you lovelies and inside view of my journey.

Let me start off by saying this is not an easy task at all. What may work for others may not work for you.

What was my reason for going natural? I used to have really damaged hair from all the chemicals and relaxers I used from the time I hit middle school up to the time I went to college.

Unfortunately, even after taking notice of my huge problem, I continued using relaxers and other harsh chemicals in my hair. It was around my 23rd birthday that I decided to do something about this problem and went to a professional and had them cut and style my hair. Still my hair was chemically processed. I decided to let my hair or my new growth come in to a certain length and did what many naturalistas call "the big chop." By that time I had a cute little fro which I began taking care of. Instead "frying" my hair with a flat iron, I decided to go the route of getting full sew-ins and micro braids. Although the micros protected my hair to an extent, it began adding stress to my edges causing fallout. Once again, I chopped off my hair and started from scratch.

No longer do I use relaxers or any harsh products in my hair. To me it felt like a new beginning. But as I stated before, what works for some may not work for others.

How I Protected My Natural Hair!!!!

1.) Keeping it moisturized

2.) Always trimming split ends

3.) Protective hairstyles including: weaves, braids, twists etc

4.) No chemically enhanced products

5.) Eating healthier (it does have a factor in hair growth)

My advice to the ladies who are thinking of going natural. Do it because you want to, not because you see it as a new fad. If you aren't sure this is the thing for you, don't jump on the bandwagon. I am not saying all women who use perms or relaxers have damaged hair. That isn't the case at all. I have met women who have relaxers and have some of the healthiest hair.
Remember it is all about the way you take care of your hair.

ULTA Beauty Gems Shimmer Palette Review

Recently I have gotten into the habit of using eye shadows that have shimmer in their pigments. It just so happened that around Christmas time I brought myself a palette from Ulta that had shimmer in the shadows. Let me tell you guys....I simply LOVE this palette. Not only are there four tiers of shadows, there are 24 lip stains included. 

As a woman of color, it is hard for me to find shadows of this pigment that will show properly with or without a base or primer. This palette, the Beauty Gems Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette, shows up perfectly with or without the primer and base. I especially love the neutral tones that are included. As you can see in the picture above, I have really enjoyed the darker tones and a couple of lip stains. My only issue with the lip stains that are the red or pink colors are their bases aren't blue and they don't look very attractive. I've found myself having to take a little of the blue eyeshadow to use as a base then put the red on top of it. Other than that the only other con I have for this product is the extra fall-age when I apply the shadow to my eyes. Although it isn't a lot, because the pigments show up high once applied, it leaves a residue when I wipe the excess off. Other than that, this palette is one of my favorites and I plan to continue my use of it.

When I first opened the palette, I thought I wouldn't like it because the neutral colors seemed so understated. When I got home and decided to swatch the neutrals, I became pleasantly surprised at how well they showed up against my skin. I fell in love with them right then and there. I didn't necessarily worry about the other sides where they held the bright pop colors because I knew they would easily show up, but I still did a swatch and got the same results as I did from the neutral sides. The shimmer in the shadows is really noticeable in the light or sun and gives off such a fun, girlie feel to it. I have been known to go for darker lip colors so when I swatched the dark lip colors my heart burst with excitement. Unfortunately that couldn't be said for the brighter colors seeming as their bases weren't the correct tone for my skin. I also realized that the shine really didn't show so I would have to add a coat of clear lip gloss I brought from the hair store. Other than that, nothing else bothered me.

My favorite aspect to this palette is that I don't have to mix in shadows from other palettes when I am blending. I hate having to use several different palettes because then it becomes an inconvenience to me.

All in all, I give this palette a score of 8.5/10.

CONS

• Extra Fall-age
• Lip stain/gloss really doesn't shine like advertised
• Red and Pink lip stains don't look attractive without a blue base

PROS

• High pigmentation
• Affordable (paid $12.50)
• Easy to remove with water or make up wipes
• No irritation caused to eyes
• Has not been tested on animals
• Do not need to use other palettes when blending
